Otago University Case Study at Inform Wellington

In the words of Otago’s Systems Services Manager, Dave McLaurin,

” In 2009 the University embarked on a major project to replace much of its central systems infrastructure hardware(storage, servers and associated switching) – workloads to be migrated / consolidated onto the new equipment included: vSphere, Oracle databases, the student managed desktop, and a number of Windows, Linux and Macintosh file servers. With the move to consolidate core services on a decent scale across two data centres, having underlying storage that was fast, flexible, future proof, stable, with remote monitoring and proactive hardware support, and little downtime – was important.”
