On the spur of the moment, we went up to Bathurst for Australia day, to discover the O’Reilly farm. Bill has moved out of the boardroom and onto the broad paddock. He has bought a rundown property and is turning it around!
On arrival, Bill led us to that spot on the hill, (top right), We were thinking he was trying to get us away from the house until we got there and looked around. Bathurst and mount Panorama on the one side and the rolling fields on the other… staggering.
No farm break is complete without some farming! And in true Bill style he has a list of stuff to get done. Starting with planting the ‘Gold’ tree, (seems like everyone, or maybe just special people), who come to stay get their own tree!
So here is Viv driving the stakes to make the protective fence, keeping the rabbits and Roos from snacking on our tree!
Not yet satisfied, Viv went on to dig some holes and then jumped on the tractor and slashed a field!
